Cat Sitting, Dog Walking and Dog Boarding in Bromley

Hi everyone. I have just had a dog walk cancelled so I thought I would come home and update my blog. As you can imagine at this busy time of year for holidays I am rushed off my feet. This last month I have boarded some lovely dogs, looked after lots of beautiful cats and have been dog walking in the sweltering heat, some days for three hours a day.

Here are some pictures of the boarders:-
Chloe stayed 2 nightsAlfie Ruby. Alfie and Ruby stayed for 3 nights
Eddie - one morningBuster - one day
Charlie stayed 2 nights

I have been walking two new dogs, Poppy and Paolo, a Cairn and a Westie. Harley (Dashund)
Marley (Black Spaniel) Chuffley (labrador) and Boris (Pointer)
When I have help I try to take the dogs out in groups of three and four. During the school holidays that will happen more often but when the girls are back at uni and school I walk the dogs in groups of two at most.
Here's a lovely picture of Bob and Charlie. Bob definately met his match with Charlie :) She was having none of his shennanigans.

And now for the cats.

Louise, Elly, Olivia and Chloe

Putin, Lottie, Paddy and Bill

Lono, Hiltz, Hunter and Chloe

Max, Monkey, Molly and Lily

I hope you have enjoyed seeing pictures of the pets I have looked after. I am now off to pick up Bob who is staying for the weekend. Please feel free to leave any comments, I enjoy reading them.

Sad News About Tommy

I have had some very sad news about Tommy. While out walking with his owners in Beckenham Place Park Tommy ran off and didn't come back. All the dog walkers in the park at that time searched high and low for him but to no avail. The owners thought at first that Tommy had been stolen and put up posters in the park asking if anyone had seen or found him. A railway worker saw one of the posters and telephoned the owners to tell them that Tommy had been found on the railway track and had been hit by a train. Tommy had obviously found a small hole in the fence and went exploring. My heartfelt sympathies go out to Bill and Lisa. Tommy was a fantastic little dog and me and my family loved having him come to stay. Like Lisa said to me when she told me the sad news, Tommy's life was very short but it was a very happy one. We all miss you Tommy and hope that you are happy in doggy heaven.

Cat Sitter, Dog Walker, Bromley

Well what a difference a day makes. Yesterday I was wearing a jumper and waterproofs while dog walking and today a t-shirt and factor 15. No wonder the British are always talking about the weather :)

I have finally got round to updating this blog with some more of the lovely animals I have been looking after recently.

I have had quite a few dog boards so here we go!

Firstly a lovely Whippet (cross?) called Tommy. We all fell in love with Tommy. He had a very sad face and a black line around his eyes as if he were wearing eyeliner:)
Tommy got to meet the other dogs I walk. Harley (the daschund)and a dog I walk every day Chuffley. He also got to meet Bob the schnauzer and at first I thought it was going to be a disaster as they both seemed quite aggessive towards each other, but they soon came round and became good friends :)

Here's Bob with Lenny. Bob stays for a whole day a week with me and in May he came to stay for a long weekend. I love Bob but I could do without the wake up calls. Bob!

This is Almond, a 3 year old Samoyed. He is beautiful but very strong. I'm not sure who takes who for a walk.

I had the pleasure of looking after Colin and Chloe again this month while Charlotte went to Sark. Here they are enjoying the garden. Unfortunately Charlotte had to take Colin to the vet recently and they told her he had diabetes, so he now has to have a tablet everyday. He takes it very well though and likes the new food he has to have. Not easy when Chloe is eating tinned cat food next door. He does try and make his way over to her food if he thinks I'm not looking, so I had to be extra vigilant :)

This is Daisy and Kooky, two very clever cats I have just finished looking after. The white cat is Daisy and the black cat is Kooky. They were very nervous cats while I was in the house but it was obviously mayhem, judging by the mess I found every day in the kitchen, everytime I left. What do they get up to when we're not there?

Here are some lovely pictures of other cats I have been looking after. As you can see I have been very busy of late and enjoyed every minute of it. From top to bottom:- Gabby,Bumblebee,Lilly, Arthur, Coco, Bert, Beauregard, Sophie, geckos (2 pics), Misty and Lou Lou.
This is Marigold, my most nervous cat. I would never see Marigold if I didnt actively look for her every visit. This time I was determined to take a picture of her and I sought her out and found her hiding in the smallest gap between the sofa and the radiator.
Gotcha!

Last but not least I am now looking after my friends two Spaniels and her three cats and goldfish while she is on holiday at Centre Parcs in Belgium. I call her brood the Crazy Gang (this mainly applies to Cooper and Jen). Yesterday I tried to come in to my house in some sort of order (usually they fly in and run straight through the hall to the kitchen and out to the back garden looking for a tennis ball). I decided to hold onto their leads until we were well into the house and that way they would enter calmly. Unfortunately they had other ideas. As we entered the door to the hall way I held onto their leads, they bolted, I tripped over the rug and they pulled me, like huskys, on my stomach into the kitchen. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. My daughter was in no doubt and laughed hysterically for the next hour. I must admit once my knee had stopped throbbing I also saw the funny side :D

I'm expecting a very busy pet sitting Summer but I hope I have time to update you with more lovely pets.

Ciao

I have had an amazing time recently looking after such lovely pets that I really feel blessed to have such an enjoyable job. Sometimes the jobs only last a week or two and in the case of Pog, just one visit, but I'm left with such happy memories and stories to tell that I become emotionally attached to every animal I look after.

I've put some of the pet's pictures onto this blog in a video, so take a look.

Just a little bit about some of the pets in the video - Lenny the labradoodle is staying with me at the moment and if I meet one more person who tells me labradoodles don't shed, I think I'll bring them home with me to see the thick layer of course fur on my carpets. Lenny!

Bob stays with me once a week usually, sometimes twice, just for the daytime while his owners are at work. He has a bit of a fixation with feet, especially trainers, so we are going to try some whistle diversionary tactics. I'll tell you how we get on.

Unfortunately I'm not walking Pie at the moment but enjoyed the week I was walking her over Crystal Palace Park. She was so affectionate and really loved attention. Pie came from Battersea Dogs Home and had been really mistreated in the past so I'm glad she's now been adopted by a lovely girl and been given the chance of a loving home.

Colin and Chloe, two Purr-fect Kitty regulars, are now going out into the garden and are really settled. Charlotte, their owner, has really persevered with them and they are a credit to her.

Cutie is very happy to have Mike back with her. I have been looking after Cutie for a friend who went on a cruise for four months. I visited her once a day for about an hour and sometimes (if I had the time) I'd go round there and watch a film so that she wasn't too lonely. Cutie showed no signs of anxiety and Mike has returned to a very relaxed cat.

Theo was rescued from a farm by his owner's son. Her son was at university and he and his friends heard about a litter of kittens that were going to be drowned. So they rode down on their bikes with back packs and rescued them all. Theo now lives in luxury and doesn't he deserve it!

Come back and see more of the pets I look after. I'll be boarding a lovely Whippet soon and then the crazy gang - my friends spaniels. Things are getting busy, busy, busy :)
